Management

Brian Hirschmann, CFA
Managing Partner
In 2014, I launched the Hirschmann Partnership (HP). Since its inception, HP has outperformed the S&P 500 despite being the “World’s Most Bearish Hedge Fund” according to ValueWalk.
Previously I was an associate at Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies (GSPS), a multi-billion dollar hedge fund, whose alumni include Robert Rubin, Tom Steyer, Daniel Och and Eddie Lampert. After GSPS, I returned to Los Angeles to join Hotchkis and Wiley Capital Management, where I was an equity-owner and deployed over $1bn in capital in long-term investments.
I graduated with distinction from Yale, where my investment philosophy was strongly influenced by Professor Robert Shiller, one of the few to predict both the dot-com and housing bubbles, and by my senior essay advisor, Professor David Swensen, Yale’s legendary endowment manager.
